01 How it works
- Choose the files to include.
- Group sizes by filename extension and rank the largest files.
- Download the JSON or CSV report.
02 Good to know
The report covers only selected files and groups by filename extension, not file contents. It lists at most the ten largest selected files. The selection is limited to 1,000 files and 1 GiB total.
03See which selected files and folders use the most space
Choose files or folders to include. Forkgen totals the selected contents by filename extension and ranks up to ten of the largest files, then lets you download the report as JSON or CSV.
The report covers only your selection. It does not measure free disk space or scan the rest of your computer automatically.
04Understand the extension groups
Groups come from filename extensions, not file contents. A renamed file may appear under a different extension even if its data format has not changed. Files without a recognizable extension may be grouped separately by the report.
The largest-files list is capped at ten entries. Use it to identify items for closer review, then check their paths and purpose in your file manager before moving or removing anything.
05Selection limit
The report includes selected files and chosen folder contents, up to 1,000 files and 1 GiB total.
