- Add a PDF.
- Choose smart, editable or image slides.
- Download the .pptx.
02 Good to know
Smart mode keeps the page look as a background and places editable text boxes on top.
03Choose the slide conversion mode
Add a PDF and select Smart, Fully editable, or Images only. Smart mode keeps the page look as a background and adds editable text boxes over it; Fully editable rebuilds slide content; Images only places each page as a picture.
Choose a slide size such as the source page size, 16:9, 4:3, or a landscape or portrait A4 layout. Select pages if you only need part of the PDF.
04What carries over from a PDF
PDF pages are fixed layouts, not presentation source files. Text, images, and shapes may be reconstructed differently, and the editable elements may need repositioning in PowerPoint.
Use Images only when preserving the page appearance matters more than editing individual objects. In Smart mode, the background retains the page look while text boxes support edits, but they may not align perfectly.
05Review slides before presenting
Open the exported .pptx and check slide size, text placement, reading order, and image quality. Review every slide that contains columns, rotated text, or dense tables.
For the reverse task, convert a PPTX to PDF. Keep the source presentation if you need animations or editable slide layouts.
