A photo with a distinct subject and background gives the segmentation model clearer edges to separate. Fine hair, translucent objects, and low-contrast boundaries can be difficult to isolate cleanly.
The model downloads on first use and runs in the browser. Fast mode retries on the CPU if GPU processing fails. Detailed needs a compatible GPU; Portrait runs on the CPU.

The output is a transparent PNG. Zoom in around hair, glass, and other detailed edges before using the cutout. The tool does not include a manual edge-refinement step, so keep the original when you need precise retouching.
