Remove image metadata
Remove image metadata such as EXIF and GPS fields by re-encoding the image from its decoded pixels. Free to use, with no sign-up required.

01 How it works
- Choose an image.
- Remove metadata by re-encoding the pixels.
- Download the cleaned image.
02 Good to know
Re-encoding the decoded pixels omits embedded metadata such as EXIF and GPS location. JPG and WebP stay in their format; other images are saved as PNG unless you pick a format under More options. Color-profile changes can affect appearance; inspect the output.
03Create a copy without embedded metadata
The tool decodes the image and re-encodes its pixels without source metadata such as EXIF and GPS location fields. This is a re-encoding step, not a byte-preserving metadata strip.
JPG and WebP remain in their format. Other supported images are saved as PNG unless you choose a format under More options.
04Check the result before sharing
Re-encoding may change image quality or color-profile behavior. This tool does not provide a metadata report, so inspect the output with a separate metadata viewer if you need to confirm particular fields were removed.
05 Questions
Which metadata does this remove?
It omits embedded metadata by re-encoding decoded pixels, including fields such as EXIF and GPS location.
Does removing metadata preserve the original bytes?
No. The image is re-encoded, which can change its bytes, image quality, or color-profile appearance.
How can I confirm a field is gone?
Check the downloaded copy with a metadata viewer if you need field-by-field confirmation.
