Scans and flat graphics can shrink without changing their pixels. Other levels can reduce photo resolution and quality, while text and vector graphics stay sharp. Supported embedded fonts are reduced safely. Files with digital signatures keep their original bytes. A file is never made larger; targets depend on the document.
03Compress PDF files with the right level of detail
Pick a level from Lossless through Extreme to control how much image resolution may be reduced. Lossless keeps original image pixels; stronger levels can make photos smaller and less detailed.
You can process several PDFs in one run. Each file is compressed separately, and the result reports its own before and after size.
04Set a target carefully
Target mode tries progressively stronger settings and stops when the file reaches your requested size. The target is not guaranteed. If the PDF cannot get that small with the available settings, the tool returns the smallest result it found and says the target was missed.
Files over 100 MB are not accepted. If a large PDF exceeds that limit, split it into smaller files first.

How much smaller will my PDF get?
It depends on what is inside the file. PDFs with compressible images may shrink more; already optimized files may barely change. The result shows the actual size difference.
Can I guarantee a target file size?
No. Target mode tries available compression settings and returns the smallest result it finds if the requested size cannot be reached.
Does compression reduce image quality?
Lossless mode keeps original image pixels. Other levels can lower photo resolution, with stronger levels trading more detail for smaller images.
What is the file size limit?
Each input PDF can be up to 100 MB. Split larger PDFs before compressing them.
