Clean mode recreates headings, paragraphs, lists, tables and images so the page reflows on phones. Exact mode keeps every line where it was.

03Choose a web page layout

Add a PDF and choose Clean web page for headings, lists, tables, and images that reflow on phones, or Exact layout to keep elements positioned like the source page.

Select a light, dark, or sepia theme. You can include images, detect tables in clean mode, remove repeated headers and footers, and export one HTML file or a ZIP with a file for each page.

04Know what each mode preserves

Clean mode is easier to read and adapt to different screen sizes, but reconstructed structure may differ from the original typography and spacing. Exact layout prioritizes page appearance and is less flexible on narrow screens.

A PDF is a fixed-page format, so complex layouts, scanned pages, and unusual text placement can affect extraction. Open the HTML output and check headings, table rows, images, and links before publishing it.

05Use HTML when the content needs to flow

HTML works well when people need to read the document in a browser or when you want a starting point for an accessible web page. Review the result for reading order and meaningful headings before sharing.

For a reflowable ebook, use PDF to EPUB. For a PDF with scanned text, run OCR first so the converter has text to work with.
