02 Good to know
Splitting copies pages without re-encoding. Cut pages in half turns scanned two-page spreads into single pages.
03How to split PDF pages
Use page ranges to create one file per range, or combine the selected ranges into one PDF. Pick pages to extract and optionally save each selected page separately. Every N pages makes equal-sized groups; the half option divides a document at a page you choose.
To turn scanned book spreads into individual pages, use Cut pages in half. Choose left/right or top/bottom to match how the spread is oriented.
04Split by document structure
If the PDF has bookmarks, split at a selected bookmark level to create named chapter files. You can also start a new file wherever a text phrase appears. Text matching needs selectable PDF text; scanned pages need OCR first.
05Split to a file size
Choose a maximum size and the tool groups pages into PDFs under that limit where possible. A single page that is already larger than the limit has to remain on its own and may exceed it. When a mode creates multiple files, they download together as a ZIP.
06 Questions
Can I extract only certain pages?
Yes. Pick pages or enter page ranges. You can save selected pages in one PDF or make one PDF for each selected page.
Can I split a PDF at its bookmarks?
Yes, if the PDF contains bookmarks at the level you select. If it has none at that level, choose another level or split by text or ranges.
Can I split a scanned PDF when text appears?
Text matching works on selectable text. Run OCR on scanned pages first so their recognized text can be searched.
Will every part stay below my chosen size?
Usually, but a single page can exceed the selected limit by itself. The tool cannot divide that page in size mode.
