FFmpeg runs locally in your browser. First use loads a roughly 32 MB same-origin WebAssembly core and can take time and use substantial memory. Combined inputs are limited to 100 MB, media duration to 30 minutes, frame dimensions to 4,096 pixels per side and 16 megapixels total, and output to 250 MB. Codec and filter support depends on the bundled build.

01 How it works

  1. Choose one video.
  2. Generate timestamped captions on-device or choose an SRT file, then review and edit the text.
  3. Render and download the captioned MP4.

02 Good to know

Generated captions use on-device speech recognition and should be reviewed for accuracy before rendering. Captions become part of the video frames and cannot be switched off. The bundled FFmpeg core must support its subtitles filter; the output is re-encoded as MP4.

03Review subtitles before burning them into video

Choose a video, generate timestamped captions on-device or import an SRT file, then review and edit the text before rendering.

Burned captions become part of the video frames and cannot be switched off. Speech recognition can make mistakes, so review the text and timing before export.

04Limits and compatibility

The bundled FFmpeg core must support its subtitles filter. FFmpeg runs in your browser, with combined inputs limited to 100 MB and media duration to 30 minutes; output is limited to 250 MB.
