Add a file

Add a file to start.

FFmpeg runs locally in your browser. First use loads a roughly 32 MB same-origin WebAssembly core and can take time and use substantial memory. Combined inputs are limited to 100 MB, media duration to 30 minutes, frame dimensions to 4,096 pixels per side and 16 megapixels total, and output to 250 MB. Codec and filter support depends on the bundled build.

01 How it works

  1. Choose one video file.
  2. Remove its audio stream.
  3. Download the silent MP4.

02 Good to know

The video is re-encoded as MP4 without audio, using an encoder available in the bundled FFmpeg core.

03Remove audio from a video

Choose a video and render it as a silent MP4. The output omits the audio stream and re-encodes the video.

The result is a new file. It does not change the original video, and the output cannot restore the removed audio track. Keep the source if you may need its sound later.

04Limits and compatibility

FFmpeg runs in your browser. The bundled core must be able to decode the source and encode MP4 video. Combined inputs are limited to 100 MB and 30 minutes; output is limited to 250 MB.

05 Questions

Does muting lower the volume to zero?

The output removes the audio stream rather than adding a silent audio track.

Can I get the original sound back from the silent MP4?

No. Use the original source file if you need the audio again.
