Audio is decoded and processed in this tab at its original sample rate. Results are saved as WAV.

01 How it works

  1. Choose one audio file.
  2. Set the silence threshold and minimum duration.
  3. Download the edited WAV.

02 Good to know

Silence is detected by sample amplitude across all channels. Quiet pauses shorter than the minimum duration stay in place. Browser codec support applies; each input is limited to 300 MB and three hours, with browser memory limits applying.

03Set the threshold for audio silence removal

Choose how quiet a section must be and its minimum duration. The tool checks sample amplitude across the channels. It is a threshold-based edit, not speech recognition or AI voice-activity detection.

Quiet sections shorter than the selected minimum stay in place. A threshold that is too high can remove soft speech or music, so listen to the output before keeping it. If no audio remains at the chosen threshold, processing stops with an error.

04Save the edited audio

The edited result is a WAV file. Input files must decode in the browser and fit the 300 MB, three-hour, and browser-memory limits.

05 Questions

Does silence removal understand speech?

No. It checks sample amplitude and duration; it does not identify words or distinguish speech from background sound.

Can it remove quiet words?

Yes, if their samples fall below the threshold long enough. Use a lower threshold or shorter minimum duration and check the result.
