Files processed on your device01 How it works
- Add a PDF.
- Run the check.
- Review what to remove.
02 Good to know
Looks for author names, editing history, hidden text, attachments, scripts, links and identifiers such as emails, phone, card, Aadhaar and PAN numbers.
03Review what the PDF may reveal
Run the check to produce an on-page report of document properties and detectable content, including author details, comments, attachments, scripts, links, hidden text and common identifiers.
The report is advisory. Review each finding and decide whether to edit metadata, redact content or remove another item before sharing the file.
04Understand what a scan can miss
Pattern checks can produce false matches and may not find every sensitive value. Text extraction cannot inspect words that exist only as pixels in an unrecognized scan.
A clean report is not proof that a PDF contains no private information. Inspect page images and document content yourself, especially for sensitive files.
05Use the right fix for each finding
Edit metadata to change document properties. Redact text that must be removed from the page. Flattening or drawing a black box over text does not securely remove the underlying words.
After making changes, run the check again and inspect the exported PDF before sending it.
06 Questions
What can a PDF privacy check find?
It reports detectable metadata, comments, attachments, scripts, links, hidden text and common personal identifiers.
Does a clean report prove the PDF is safe to share?
No. The scan can miss content, including text visible only in images. Review the document and treat the report as a check, not a guarantee.
Does the privacy check remove sensitive data?
No. It reports findings. Use metadata editing or redaction to address them, then inspect the saved PDF.
