- Add a PDF.
- Choose text or an image, layout, colour and opacity.
- Download the watermarked PDF.
02 Good to know
Watermarks are added as real PDF text or images. Put them behind content for a subtler look on text-only pages.
03Choose a mark and where it appears
Type a label such as Draft or Confidential, or add a PNG, JPEG or WebP image. Choose diagonal, single, tiled or grid layout, then set the opacity and rotation. Single placement lets you choose a position; tiled and grid layouts expose spacing.
Apply the mark to the whole PDF or enter page numbers and ranges. If a page has a solid background, a mark placed underneath may be hidden.
04Check the watermark before sharing
A watermark is a visible mark in the PDF. It can label a working copy or add branding, but it does not encrypt the document or prevent someone from editing the mark.
Open the downloaded copy and check pages with different layouts. Keep the original if you may need an unmarked version.
05 Questions
Can I use my logo as a PDF watermark?
Yes. Add a PNG, JPEG or WebP image. A transparent PNG usually sits more cleanly over page content.
Does a watermark stop people copying my PDF?
No. It adds a visible text or image mark. Use password encryption when you need to require a password to open a copy, and keep in mind that PDF permissions depend on reader support.
Can I watermark only certain pages?
Yes. Choose all pages or enter the page numbers and ranges you want to mark.
