- Add a PDF.
- Type header and footer text using tokens like {page}.
- Download the result.
02 Good to know
Text is placed on each page. Check margins so it does not cover existing content.
03Choose what appears on each page
Enter text in any of six positions: left, centre or right at the top and bottom. Leave positions blank when you do not need them.
Use {page} and {pages} for page numbering, {date} and {time} for the current date and time, and {filename} or {title} for document details.
04Set the page range and appearance
You can skip the first page, choose specific pages, adjust the edge margin, and set the text size and colour. A divider line and bold text are optional.
Check the saved PDF for overlap with existing content. A narrow page or a long header may need a smaller size or a different position.
05Header and footer text is page content
The text is drawn onto the PDF pages. It is not a separate running header that updates when pages are later inserted or rearranged.
06 Questions
Can I put page numbers in a PDF footer?
Yes. Add {page} for the current page and {pages} for the total page count in a header or footer position.
Can I skip the cover page?
Yes. Turn on Skip the first page, or enter a page range for the pages that should receive the text.
Will the header move when I edit the PDF later?
No. It is drawn onto the selected pages. Apply it after the page order is final.
