01 How it works
- Choose one video file.
- Let your browser read its metadata.
- Download the JSON report.
02 Good to know
Reports the file name, size, browser MIME type, duration, and dimensions. The browser must be able to decode the video; codec identification is not reported. Files can be up to 500 MB, and decoded frames are limited to 16 megapixels.
03Check video dimensions, duration and file size
Choose one video and let the browser load its metadata. The report includes the file name, size, browser-reported MIME type, duration, width, and height. It does not identify the codec.
A browser can only read metadata when it can load the selected video. A familiar extension does not guarantee decoder support, and this report does not replace a full codec or stream inspection.
04Limits and compatibility
Files can be up to 500 MB, and decoded frames are limited to 16 megapixels. The browser must be able to decode the source video. If it will not load, try a browser-supported export or inspect it with a media tool that reads container metadata directly.
05 Questions
What details does the report include?
It reports the file name, size, browser MIME type, duration, and frame dimensions. Codec details are not included.
Why can a video fail to inspect?
The browser may not support the file's codec or be able to decode the video. Try a common browser-compatible export.
