Split video into MP4 segments
Split video by choosing a segment duration and download the resulting clips in a ZIP. Free to use, with no sign-up required.
Files processed on your deviceFFmpeg runs locally in your browser. First use loads a roughly 32 MB same-origin WebAssembly core and can take time and use substantial memory. Combined inputs are limited to 100 MB, media duration to 30 minutes, frame dimensions to 4,096 pixels per side and 16 megapixels total, and output to 250 MB. Codec and filter support depends on the bundled build.
01 How it works
- Choose one video file.
- Set the segment duration in seconds.
- Download the segments in a ZIP.
02 Good to know
Video is re-encoded to place keyframes at the requested segment boundaries. Audio is re-encoded when present; the final segment may be shorter.
03Choose the duration for split video segments
Select one video and enter the duration of each segment in seconds. The tool encodes the video with keyframes at the requested boundaries, then packages the MP4 clips in a ZIP.
The final segment can be shorter than the requested length. The video is re-encoded to place segment boundaries, and audio is also re-encoded when present.
04Limits and compatibility
FFmpeg runs in your browser. Combined input is limited to 100 MB and media duration to 30 minutes. Frame dimensions and total area are capped at 4,096 pixels per side and 16 megapixels.
05 Questions
Will every segment have the same duration?
The final segment may be shorter if the source duration does not divide evenly by the chosen segment length.
Why does splitting take time?
The tool re-encodes video to place keyframes at the segment boundaries.
