Video to animated WebP converter
Use the video to animated WebP converter to turn a video into an animated image with your chosen frame rate and width. Free to use, with no sign-up required.
Files processed on your deviceThe source must fit within 120 frames at your selected frame rate, so 12 FPS allows up to 10 seconds. Trim a longer video first or lower the frame rate. FFmpeg runs locally in your browser. First use loads a roughly 32 MB same-origin WebAssembly core and can take time and use substantial memory. Combined inputs are limited to 100 MB, media duration to 30 minutes, frame dimensions to 4,096 pixels per side and 16 megapixels total, and output to 250 MB. Codec and filter support depends on the bundled build.
01 How it works
- Choose one video file.
- Set the frame rate and width.
- Download the animated WebP.
02 Good to know
Uses the bundled animated WebP encoder when available. Output is limited to 120 frames and 1,280 pixels wide; high frame rates shorten the maximum clip duration. Transparency depends on the source and encoder.
03Choose frame rate and width for animated WebP
Choose a video, set the output frame rate and width, then download an animated WebP image.
The source duration multiplied by the selected frame rate must fit within 120 frames. At 12 FPS, use a clip of 10 seconds or less. Longer sources are rejected, so trim them first or lower the frame rate. Output width is limited to 1,280 pixels. Transparency depends on the source and encoder.
04Limits and compatibility
The bundled FFmpeg build must include an animated WebP encoder. FFmpeg runs locally in the browser; combined input is limited to 100 MB and media duration to 30 minutes.
05 Questions
Why is my video too long for animated WebP?
Its duration multiplied by the selected frame rate exceeds 120 frames. Trim the source first or lower the frame rate. The tool does not automatically shorten the video.
Will the output preserve transparency?
Only when the source and available encoder support transparency.
Does animated WebP keep the video's audio?
No. The output is an animated image with no audio stream.
What if the animated WebP encoder is unavailable?
The tool reports an error when the bundled FFmpeg core lacks the animated WebP encoder. Try GIF output instead.
