The browser isolates dark ink by brightness and crops the mark. Uneven lighting or shadows may remain. The tool does not synthesize a fingerprint or verify anyone's identity.
03Use a clear photo on light paper
Choose a JPEG or PNG image of an inked thumbprint. The tool separates dark pixels from light paper, crops around the detected mark, and lets you adjust paper removal and ink colour.
Even lighting and a strong contrast between ink and paper help. Shadows, coloured paper, smudges, or faint ridges can remain or disappear as you adjust the threshold. Inspect the edges of the transparent PNG before using it.
04A graphic export, not identity verification
The result is a cleaned image of the print you supplied. The tool does not create a fingerprint, compare prints, or verify the identity of a person.
Use only a print you are authorized to handle. If the mark must serve as an official biometric record, follow the capture and submission process required by the receiving organization instead of relying on an edited image.

Does this tool create a fingerprint?
No. It removes light paper pixels from a photo of an existing inked thumbprint and exports the cropped mark as a transparent PNG.
Why are parts of the print missing?
Faint ridges may be treated as paper when the removal threshold is too high. Lower the paper-removal setting and use a sharper, evenly lit photo.
Which image types can I use?
Choose a JPEG or PNG thumbprint photo. The page does not list WebP or HEIC as accepted inputs.
